wa heeey! it's a war! well not just yet, but soon i think .. although i hope not. war is bad.

best bits from the article:

" the U.S. and Britain say most inspections of ships would be done at ports rather than on the high seas. Australia announced it was banning the North's ships from entering its ports, except in dire emergencies. "
what constitutes dire emergency? i dont really know what kind of business n. korea has with australia, or america or britain for that matter. kimchi trade? we can get that from south korea! or perhaps they are importing our fine australian minerals and agricultural produce.

" In a sign of Beijing's wariness about refugees, construction of a massive concrete and barbed wire fence along parts of its 880-mile border with the North has picked up in recent days. "
guys that's great. rest of the world be-damned, nuclear warfare o-kay! just please don't give us your tired, your poor or your huddled masses yearning to breathe free. oh. and you can keep your tempest-tost too. thanks. can you imagine the conversations? CHANG! the negotiations have failed! DIG FASTER!

" Today, we just sent a batch of agricultural tools to North Korea by truck," said Huang Kelin, manager of Wanshida Trading Co., a Dandong-based firm that has an office in Pyongyang. "
so scrap my idea of n. korea importing fine aussie produce. they seem to be growing their own! unless they melt down the tools to build shells for their b-b-bombz.

more commentaries should appear on mer & co. shortly, i think. we always have something to say!
