"i tell you something, but promise not to quote it ok?"

"er okay"

"scenario : at a carpark, i was trying to reach for the entertainment book, located under the front passenger seat. ladyfriend was sitting in said passenger seat. unthinkingly, i said, "could you spread your legs a little bit more? i can't seem to reach it from here."

hilarity ensues. "

ach mensch! another shirt!

the more astute amongst you, my loyal readership (of perhaps 3) will notice that i've added a little widget above my flickr badge. spurred on by my first 2 sales, i've gotten a little more into this redbubble thing! but seeing as submission is due in 2 weeks exactly, i can't really get 110% into churning out shirts yet. but once i start putting more stuff up for sale, it'd be great if you could tell your friends about them!

i learnt this phrase from zoot, who learnt it from her colleague at work. and because we're not sloppy with our references, i ran it by doktor blitzbeine who confirmed its authenticity. god forbid i turn up on one of these websites!! castle anthrax, a place of edumacation.

what i was aiming for here was a shirt that encapsulated the ennui of disenchanted hipsters all around the world.

as of 5 minutes ago, i sold my first 2 shirts on redbubble.com !! ok so 1 was purchased by my cousin and 1 was for the person who inspired the shirt ... but still! hurraaaay ☆(゚ω゚☆)(☆゚ω゚)☆ガンバ♪

i recently bought a book on how to make soft toys. only having dabbled at sewing my own mobile phone pouches &c in those bygone days of yore, i thought it'd be interesting to learn some proper skillz.

i've only thumbed through the book, but i thought i'd apply some of my new-found knowledge for the mothership's present since her birthday's coming up in a couple of weeks.

flip side

i think it's rather appropriate that my fledgling attempt at this sewing thing begins with the letter A. the stitching's still rough, my technique requires a lot of refinement and the photo is really rubbish but it was pretty fun doing this. so hurrah! hopefully my interest in making stuffed things will be sustained and the book will be a worthwhile investment.

i wish i could come up with snappy comebacks like this

I Heart NY. Now More Than Ever.
(girl flips off hecklers in a car)
Guy in car: Oh yeah, sweetie? Why don't you stick that up your ass?!
Girl: Maybe if I made it into a fist you'd want to stick it up yours.

moongshirt
for good friend moongchi, from (sometimes) bad friend ropey
if you keep track of news in singapore, then you'll probably know that j.b. jeyaratnam passed away a couple of days ago. and you'll also know about the failure of an condolence letter that our great prime minister wrote to jbj's sons.

anyway, there's an increasingly negative response to the way the state is handling the passing of the man considered to be the biggest thorn in the PAP's side.

it kind of makes you wonder if the letters were all dictated by the same person and then officially signed off and published. it wouldn't really surprise me. the only good thing that comes of this - that i can see at the moment anyhow - is that people are becoming more and more vocal about their unhappiness with singapore's political situation. apathy's a shiteous thing and singaporeans have been apathetic for far too long.

now i'm actually quite interested to see what'll happen when the other old man dies. he must be contemplating his own mortality now that one of his many nemeses, the one who fought the hardest, has been taken by a force greater than himself.

the show's just beginning! majulah singapura.
