today was movieworld day! also known as the day that 3 friends, one from each stage of my life, met each other. how strange they're all in brisbane! anyway, movieworld! a blow-by-blow account. leave now, ye who find such things insufferable.

batman adventure
some simulator thing with a really involved pre-ride story. sucked.

batwing spaceshot
a fantastic warm-up ride. dragged sheep and cally along even though they didn't seem so keen. a pretty standard free-fall kind of theme park ride where you get strapped into a seat with your feet dangling free and then you get launched 8 storeys into the air and then dropped again.

superman escape
the premise being you're on a metropolitan transit railway ride and there's an earthquake or something god knows. but anyway the only way for you to be saved is superman comes along and "pushes" you to safety. i wasn't really listening to the pre-ride spiel but something about hitting g-force 4 times? or something. and negative g-force once. exciting! goes from 0 - 100 in 2 seconds or so matt claims. dragged sheep and cally on this one too and they were super apprehensive at first but i think they were glad they went in the end. right? right?

wild west falls adventure ride
we got wet. there was some tummy-churning. not bad.

shrek 4d adventure
surprisingly entertaining! sheep actually screamed a fair bit. shameful sheep. there was much arm-clutching especially at the bit with spiders. s. bunny was pillar of strength.

lethal weapon
i have no idea what the premise even was. some very haphazardly thrown together storyline i imagine. but anyway, sheep and cally sat this one out. the rest of us were strapped into our seats that were suspended from a track that ran above our heads. so it was sitting in a harness and being flung about. loop the looped 5 times and corkscrewed once! apparently i scream like a girl. and apparently it's pretty distinctive so you can hear where i am. couldn't walk in a straight line after.

LUNCHBREAK!
was wisely taken after all scary rides had been conquered. sondha and i prepared this massive picnic lunch only to realise that we probably wouldn't be able to bring it into the park (otherwise who'd buy the overprice garbage they served?) so in a very singaporean fashion, she smuggled the entire contents of our picnic basket into her satchel.

on the menu:
baguettes
cheese
prosciutto, ham & roast beef slices
box o' tomatoes & spinach leaves (rinsed and pat-dried by me. bunnies like their veggies crisp)
assorted tartlets (one each)
chocolate truffles (seven in total)
mandarin oranges

a feast!!

road runner roller coaster
an 'all-family fun' ride where cally screamed louder than all the children on the ride combined and the rest of us laughed uproariously

sondha + matt go on lethal weapon twice more. the rest of us have an ice cream break.

scooby doo spooky coaster
a fantastic traditional roller coaster. possibly one of the best rides just because it was very much like being in an actual scooby doo cartoon. went on this one twice in a row. hoohoo!

went on the superman ride again
regretted halfway through the ride. screamed "why did i go on this agaaaaaaaain" during the near-vertical drop much to the amusement of sondha and matt.

our movie world posse
and then we staggered home
