actually this is really quite bizarre. for one thing i have no idea what she's talking about. and for another, why on earth is she repeating the things she says on the train? in any case, now you will always imagine this woman's face when you take the mrt.

i think she's talking about accents. someone should tell her that accents are due to regional variations in the pronunciation of vowels, and hence there is no such thing as no accent.
and if i may be so bold, she has the accent of a well-educated Londoner, aka High English.

in any case, shldn't it be more like "having an accent is one of those things you just can't help" ??
