dinner at chez loo:
dad: [cough] argh. i forgot to chew before i swallowed.
lynne: yeah? i forgot to lie down before i fell asleep
mum: i forgot to inhale before i exahaled.
he was not amused.

ghost hunt is SCARY! ∑(O_O;) and it gave me goosebumps on more than one occasion. i am a pansy ( _ _*) i've been told that at my known level of pansy-ness i wouldn't be able to sleep at night, and i've only watched 2 case files but i've been told it gets SCARIER. but now that i've watched 6 out of 25 episodes i have to keep going right?

SIO (see-oh) - Hokkien for “hot”. As with English, it can also describe women.
1. “This soup is sio, boy.” 2. “That chick is damn sio, man.”
on my way to the sign printer's, there was a group of very obviously singaporean boys sitting outside a neighbouring takeaway place. how did i know? mostly because i could hear them before i could see them. and what, pray tell did i hear as soon i opened the car door?
"wah! you mean she sio sio u ah ?!"
how. mortifying.

the last few days' silence can be attributed to LUCKY STAR !! recommended by BBOJ. actually i'd watched the first episode and felt my iq dip by at least 50 points. but then he said to stick with it because it gets better. so i did, and it got better!
the people who put it together are so clever they figured out a way to make people watch each episode in its entirety. ahhhh konata is so cute ! she's such an otaku! actually this whole anime is made by otaku for otaku. there are sooooo many other anime references and private jokes that you have to have watched a few before for it to make sense.
i would suggest at least knowing about full metal panic! fumoffu and the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya, but of course it'd be best if you'd actually watched them before.
also, it teaches you so many types of emoticons! i spent a considerable amount of time making emoticon gifs for msn! aiyeee! you can email me or leave a comment if you want the small emoticon package

obviously i have a lot of work to do, otherwise i wouldn't be posting so much.
anyway.
samson got the snip recently, because the vet says if he doesn't spread the lovin' he has a high risk of getting prostate cancer in his later years. because of his operation he has to wear a lampshade so that he doesn't lick at the stitches. not that it's stopping him. our dog is very flexible! at the same time, the vet also chopped all his fur off because it as very tangled and kind of gross.
the result is that our dog looks like a skinny russian babushka. or so my mother claims. i don't suppose the fetching orange ribbon helps his image much. our poor emasculated sammy!
here he is being manja, invading dad's personal space. and that's my dad ignoring him.
and this is him looking at whoever my dad is talking to. probably mum.

happy new week, readers! how was your sunday evening? mine was busier than a mongoloid porn inferno(click on that and keep on watching). but only, literally, in my dreams.
i had this mad dream about how stoo and i were swimming (yes, swimming) through the freezing ocean in nothing but wetsuits and utility belts, no breathing apparatus! we were heading toward this lighthouse on an island, kindof like in bioshock. anyway when we got to shore, moongchi was waiting for us.
we shed the wetsuits and underneath were jumpsuits. can u imagine? jumpsuits under wetsuits? but the utility belts were still there. and so three of us ran toward the lighthouse, behind which was this MASSIVE crazy looking building which we took to be some kind of secret service office. on the inside it looked like the water corp where stuie works.
did i mention that we had these spiderman abilities to stick to the ceiling when required? anyway, moongchi was patrolling the perimeter while stoo and i infiltrated the base. we were after some kind of document, which we yoinked from an employee while he was chatting at the water cooler. security was quite slack for a top secret government organization.
anyway, then we had to bail, but then they discovered the document was missing and ordered a lockdown on the premises, so stoo and i had to escape. having a terrible sense of direction though, i lost him and somehow ended up in this room with a girl who was tearing her clothes off. she was a chinese journalist whose boss kept changing his mind about things and her deadline was approaching so she was going crazy. then she jumped out a window, so i followed her. then she disappeared, but stoo was standing outside waiting for me and we made a stealthy escape.
we caught up with mooongchi, and we were all squatting on this rock planning and smoking perfectly hand-rolled cigarettes while our departure from the island now that the risk of getting discovered was higher.
and then i woke up.
it was super exciting. but now i am tired and i need a nap. happy monday morning !

to play superpoke on facebook is to enter the realm of the ridiculous. SHEEPMAN was being juvenile, so i divorced it. then it did all kinds of weird things like feed me and pet me, then it married me. and then it RE-DIVORCED ME.
you are silly sheep. back to your books.

while meant to be studying logic, sheepman was looking on wikipedia for a "scared emoticon" to appropriately convey her feelings to someone via a facebook wall post.
this included up a list of common emoticons, one of which was this ¬'¬ ... a bemused indian woman. what sheep wants to know is, how is this common ?! also, how is it she found an emoticon depicting a bemused indian woman, but not one for fear ?
does anybody know the emoticon for fear ??
incidentally, i'm posting on behalf of sheepman who feels that its blog is too inactive and is, for some reason, too ashamed to post for itself! which is silly. the person studying logic is behaving in a highly illogical manner.

when the hell did ikea furniture become so complicated?! back in the old days they gave you an allen key and a whole bunch of screws and all you had to do was put it together.
now it's nails and screws, so don't forget your hammer and two types of screwdrivers and pencil, because the process of assembling your ikea furniture has just gotten that much more involved! and incidentally, why do those nails bend so easily?! my success rate at hammering nails in straight was about 50% =( which increased to about 75% after i got the hang of it. luckily ikea's still pretty idiot-proof in that they have plenty of allowance space on either side of the drawers so they still slide in and out even though the nails are poking out a bit.
o ikea, we used to have such an easy relationship and now you've gone and added a whole new level of complexity to it.
and now a lizard's just fallen on my arm. it was black and sticky and so very disgusting. my day is complete.

emiko went to japan and brought back a treasure trove of pocky. winter pocky covered in cocoa, seasonal pocky that was chestnut flavoured, giant pocky that was 25cm long, almond crunch pocky, and some "dessert" pocky that seemed to be covered in chocolate mousse. in addition to that there was the chocolate almond latte koalas and red bean kitkat that was supertasty! and now i feel sick, so i will lie down.
emiko is luvverly.
also, if you haven't already heard, marilyn manson's come up with his own absinthe. it is called MANSINTHE.

there is a hole in the wall near viet hoa on william street. you won't really notice it if you're walking along william street because it's obscured by a vietnamese grocer and some parking bays. before last night, we've only ever speculated what could be going on in that little shop. stuie reckons every time he looks up he sees a guy in the window, who scuttles away upon making eye contact. and, they have a big heavy shutter beyond which lies another door which is always locked.
last night, brave leanda stepped beyond the roller shutter and had a good look at the door and noticed its very strange operating hours! i.e. 12pm - 1am weekdays, and 12pm - 3am weekends. this only heightened the intrigue i suppose, so she went home and googled "perth steam works" and unearthed this gleaming nugget of information, that will benefit mankind in no way whatsoever (unless you're part of their target demographic).
anyhoo, ponder no more, western australian blog-readers! for perth steam works is ... here.

an old man walks into our shop.
"do you sell mops here? you know the type with the handle that extends and the end that swivels?", he enquires
"no, we sell real estate, not household items", i replied
"oh. well i didn't really think you'd say yes. i was just wondering that's all. anyway you didn't say no, you said 'we don't sell them', didn't you. well ... that's as good as a no i suppose. okay bye then!"
and he leaves.

i think the last gig i went for was the grates o so long ago last year. so last night we went to watch van she and operator please, who were pretty darn good. i was pretty miffed when we got there though, because security meathead was a tool! he was looking at my driver's license not believing it was me, so i had to pull out my student ID and my credit card so they could compare pictures and signatures. what a crock =(
i think i would have enjoyed myself more if i actually knew all the words to all the songs, but not everything they played was from their EPs. in fact most of it was from new albums coming out soon-ish; 2008 for van she and november for operator please.
van she's music was pretty much 3-chord progressions in 4/4 time, but they have this 80s electronica sound going for them and they're really into their music ... not to mention the bassist is good-looking. the last song in their set was particularly good, so yes! two thumbs up, and buy their EP and their album!
operator please was pretty good too. those kids are super super talented! only all their music was super fast, and variations in tempo were also super fast and after awhile you just feel really tired listening to them. all the same, i'd rate them two thumbs up.
the support act was rubbish i don't even know their name.
and that's it!

has anyone bought the new hives album? yes? yes? no?
anyway if you're thinking about buying it, here's a little heads up. it's not too bad. but you kind of have to be a fan to buy it i think.
put it this way, there's a few super-kicky-get-up-and-jump-around kind of songs. but there's some that literally make you go "ok next". the thing is, you know that if they do tour australia, that the gig is going to be rocking. these guys are fantastic live performers. and if you want to get the max out of you have to know the lyrics of the songs so you can howl along with pelle.
so the verdict is:
if you're a fan, definitely buy it because that'll encourage them to go on tour here! and if you're not a fan but are planning to see them live, borrow the album from a fan or get the nice songs off itunes! and if you're neither of the above well then ... well then ...
