baby, what's in that satchel?

it's been so long i can't even remember if i blogged about this, but at work one of our projects is designing a factory for an american company. the last time we had a meeting with JTC, they said "oh that's nice. yes yes very good". then a week ago, we received JTC's UDG (urban design guideline), so guess who was tasked with reading + interpreting it because her boss was too lazy!

wanyhoo, it turns out that our site on jalan tukang is soon going to be our site on "innovation boulevard", which is one of the "innovation corridors" leading to "innovation square".

this is le great! no?

and you can bet that innotime, many an inno-portmanteau will be coined, much to the chagrin of the public-at-large.ok that was a lame gratuitous pun.

the worst bit of this is that after 3 months of developing the design to something the client is happy with, and getting quotes for building costs and taking on other projects, the threat of going back to square one on this stupid factory is quite real.

huzzah! not. plus a meeting with aforementioned statutory board to thrash out UDG issues was tense and mildly frustrating.

so i guess things are happening but not really in a fun way. grumpy boss makes for tense work environment.

i bite my thumb at working life and shake my fist in its general direction!
