happy sunday everyone!

on friday, on the way to meet sheep + yf the train kept stalling so i had to entertain myself by being evil to other people in my carriage. more specifically, this girl was trying to inconspicuously drink her tau hway jui.

every time she dipped her head dow to try and drink some, i'd look up nonchalantly at her, making her put her drink down. this happened a few times till she finally tried to hide the drink altogether by balancing it in her tote bag. that obviously didn't work because there was no support in her bag. so she had to take it out again. so then i looked up at her again and she finally gave up and took it out again, looking at a completely at a loss as to what to do.

just imagine this going on till she found a seat! i don't think she ever had a sweeter taste of tau hway jui as when she sat down managed to take a drink without me staring at her.

evidence that australian schoolchildren aren't given enough homework lies in emails from my sister lynnie loo III, which contain "some harry potter scenarios".

something has to be done about tay yek keak. and by something i mean the guy needs a stern talking-to at the very least. quick google search tells me he's a fairly esteemed writer, but lately his starsngripes column in the life! section has been unbearable.

if anyone knows anyone who knows anyone who knows anyone who knows him, please tell him to quit giving movies "clever nicknames".

this week alone, the ex was retitled the tanking of maximo lameness, which was a reference to the blossoming of maximo oliveiros, which was in turn dubbed the blossoming of blah blah blah. you get the picture.

and the griping is just that - griping. dude just rambles on and on about everything showing in the cinema right now with no point in sight. except maybe that last one about daniel radcliffe having some staying power in showbiz. i think. i don't know because i was kind of lost in all the waffle.

granted he does have good vocabulary and command of english but someone needs to tell him that you can't just throw all the fancy words you know into an article and hope it passes off as a good, credible, readable piece of writing.

it's been so long i can't even remember if i blogged about this, but at work one of our projects is designing a factory for an american company. the last time we had a meeting with JTC, they said "oh that's nice. yes yes very good". then a week ago, we received JTC's UDG (urban design guideline), so guess who was tasked with reading + interpreting it because her boss was too lazy!

wanyhoo, it turns out that our site on jalan tukang is soon going to be our site on "innovation boulevard", which is one of the "innovation corridors" leading to "innovation square".

this is le great! no?

and you can bet that innotime, many an inno-portmanteau will be coined, much to the chagrin of the public-at-large.ok that was a lame gratuitous pun.

the worst bit of this is that after 3 months of developing the design to something the client is happy with, and getting quotes for building costs and taking on other projects, the threat of going back to square one on this stupid factory is quite real.

huzzah! not. plus a meeting with aforementioned statutory board to thrash out UDG issues was tense and mildly frustrating.

so i guess things are happening but not really in a fun way. grumpy boss makes for tense work environment.

i bite my thumb at working life and shake my fist in its general direction!
