so stoo is here! and mun arrives tomorrow and castle anthrax will be buzzing.
the lead up to world youth day began today and sydney is crawling with pilgrims (or "pilgrams", as the sign at the accreditation office said today). apparently the "cool" kids are calling it "wid-sid". (WYD SYD). gurrrrrrrRRRrrrr =________="'
anyway the days have been packed and i am happy he's here. yesterday we went for lebanese food and shisha yesterday with zoot and craggy b, and there was a dish called fouhl. and craggy b kept saying "pidy de fouhl" and chuckling. anyway yours truly has helped that evolve to "pide de fouhl".
and then on tuesday it's off to taipei! o the busy life of a lotus-eating jet-setter.

and also, in one of the episodes this band called ulfuls is mentioned and gosh! what kind of name is that? so a quick google search pulled up this video:
how can you not like a band that makes such fun videos and have a lead singer called tortoise matsumoto?
in other news, loo hq's correspondent in china frequently texts with snappy snippets of her experiences. the latest one:
"song playing in a disney shop with lyrics: 'suck my dick, be my friend'"
hoohoo! anyway excuse the vapid posts. actually nothing really deep'n'meaningful is happening lately but the holidays have been a lot of fun !! i have been kind of productive i suppose. but i'll post the results of that later on when i have time to sit down and blog properly.

a couple of weeks ago, zoot and i bought the last 2 tickets to the grates gig. i know because i tried to buy 4 and the website would only let me buy 2 because that's all that was available. anyway the gig was just then and it was really really good!
i was a bit wary because they said it would be at a 'secret location' which was only revealed yesterday and there was a fair bit of hype built up about it. but it turned out to be really good! before the gig began they actually served proper food (fish 'n' chips, rice 'n' curry), the drinks were cheap, and there was no support act.
they sang all the good songs from their first album, a few songs from their new one and i think they were even better than the first time i saw them in 2006!!
and as we were leaving we even got a loot bag each, with a lollipop (consumed) and a badge (proudly displayed). gig photos are on zoot's camera so i'll post them when she uploads them.
